A BILL to amend article one, chapter seven of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirteen, relating to prohibiting county commissions from
paying membership dues to any organization which engages in
political lobbying.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one, chapter seven of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirteen, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. COUNTY COMMISSIONS GENERALLY.
§7-1-13. County commissions prohibited from paying membership dues to political lobbying organizations.
No county commission or county commissioner may pay or
cause to be paid in behalf of the county commission any
membership dues to any organization which engages in political
lobbying.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit county
commissions from paying membership dues to any organization that
engages in political lobbying.
